Curves ahead! Move over, stick figures! V Magazine is taking the New Year by storm — or at least its upcoming issue — to celebrate women of all body types in the aptly named ‘Size Issue,’ starring both plus-size models and their pint-size counterparts.
The ‘Size Issue’ includes a high-fashion photo shoot with curvy gals who are proud to flaunt their thick thighs, love handles and I loved every minute of it! Throughout the spread, they were on a surefire quest to prove that plus models can model high-end items. Trendy items featured in the spread include Guess jeans, Dolce & Gabbana lingerie, even Gucci swimsuits.
V Mag has made it clear that plus size is the new skinny. The ‘One Size Fits All’ issue is scheduled to hit the stands on January 14th, which is tomorrow!
As evidenced by the Avedon exhibit, models were all pretty much “plus sized” way back when. The super thin models of today look sickly & nothing like a young girl should aspire to be.
So, I guess this model is maybe a size 6 right? It does amaze me that a size 6 is considered “plus size” at a fashion shot and a size 0 is considered normal…
